About
My name is Hans Heiner Buhr.
I was born in 1965 and grew up in Berlin, Germany.
After military service I studied Russian language and Art education in Dresden.
In 1990 I moved to Amsterdam in the Netherlands and studied painting at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
In 1996 I got a job offered in Georgia, teaching German to Georgian kids. I moved to the industrial town Rustavi, where I lived for three years. All the time I travelled in Georgia. I got very close to the Khevsurian and Tushetian regions and met my best Georgian friends there.
In 1999 I moved to the capital Tbilisi and married in 2000 Teona, my wife. Soon our kids were born: Hans Peter on 27th November 2000 and Maria Niza on 20th July 2002.
I found the company Kaukasus-Reisen.
We are still a small one, family- like.
In wintertimes, when I have more spare time, I am painting and working on my
upcoming shows. You can see some of my works here
